Geography Updates
Putting more\ncash into the hands of consumers to help cope with inflation and generating\nmore tax revenue to support the strengthening of Japan’s self-defence\ncapabilities are two significant components of the 2025 tax reform\nproposals. Measures to address these\nobjectives will impact on both corporate and individual taxpayers. Also, with\nJapan’s Income Inclusion Rule already in effect, Japan continues to align its\ntax laws with the OECD’s Global Minimum Tax regime (i.e. Pillar 2) by proposing\nto implement the undertaxed profit rule (“UTPR”) and qualified domestic minimum\ntop-up tax (“QDMTT”) provisions.

Davis is based in Tokyo and advising inbound clients on Japanese domestic and international taxation. He is experienced in advising both financial and strategic investors on tax due diligence, and acquisitions. David is coordinator of Japan tax services to a number of large foreign multinational corporations.
Brian is an international tax managing director in the DTT Tokyo office with over 19 years of international tax experience in Japan and the US. Brian primarily works with non-Japanese MNCs in Japan providing Japan tax advisory. He is originally from the US and have worked in our New York and San Francisco offices.

Takuma is urrently finishing final phase of three year TP M&A project involving business model structuring and global TP documentation planning and execution for a privately owned Japan HQ'd medical device company.
He is also working with foreign HQ'd multinationals' Japanese subsidiaries in various projects such as TP local files, restructurings, APAs and audits primarily in TMT, LS and FS industries.
Masaaki is a Transfer Pricing and Gi3 Partner at Deloitte Japan. He is also participated in the \"Climate and Sustainability Initiative\" within Deloitte Tohmatsu Group.
